We Value Parents Interaction During Our Sessions

Every child is different and that’s exactly how it should be. At PEM Disability Children’s Club, we believe the best sessions happen when coaches and parents work together to support each child’s needs.

Our Approach

Parents and carers are warmly encouraged to step onto the pitch/hall and support their child where they feel it is beneficial. Your knowledge, reassurance, and presence can be invaluable, particularly in helping children stay regulated, engaged, and confident during sessions. Our coaches are trained to deliver inclusive sports activities, but they are not childcare specialists. Parental support can make a significant difference by providing additional supervision, reassurance, or one-to-one attention when needed.

Shared Responsibility

By working together, coaches leading activities and parents providing support where appropriate, we create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment that allows every child to participate at their own pace and in the way that suits them best.

Please do not be offended if we ask a parent to come on and help us support and regulate their child.

👨👩👧 Parents Are Welcome on the Pitch

Parents and carers are always welcome to step onto the pitch to support their child if they feel it would help.

Your presence can:

• Provide reassurance and comfort

• Help your child stay calm and engaged

• Offer extra one-to-one support when needed

You know your child best — and your support makes a real difference.

🏃️ Happy to Go It Alone? That’s Fine Too!

If your child is confident, settled, and enjoying themselves independently, you are very welcome to remain pitch-side or step back while they take part.

There is no right or wrong level of involvement — it can change from week to week, or even during a session.

If you feel the coaches need support - come on to the pitch. If you feel your child is fine - stay off the pitch

💬 Our Promise to You - Shared Support

We are committed to:

• Welcoming parental involvement

• Respecting each family’s choices

• Supporting every child to participate in the way that suits them best

Thank you for being part of the PEM family 💙

Our coaches focus on delivering fun, inclusive sports activities. They are not childcare specialists, and parental involvement is hugely valued in providing additional care, supervision, and reassurance where needed.

Together, we create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for everyone.

💬 Parents Must Stay for the Entire Session

Our insurance policy does not cover child care. We are not qualified or authorised to look after children without parental support: this would require greater governance which we do not have.

Therefore we mandate that every child must have at least one supervising adult (18+ yrs) at all times.

This allows the PEM staff to reach out to loved ones if needed.

We do not and can not allow children to be dropped off.
